RESIDENTIAL
DEVELOPMENTS
Building
on Singapore’s reputation as one of Asia’s most liveable
cities, Marina Bay will offer residents the best of both worlds –
a rare
opportunity to experience high-rise city living with spectacular panoramic
views of the city, the Bay or the lush greenery.
A number of outstanding residential developments are already taking
shape in Marina Bay. The Sail @ Marina
Bay is a luxurious six-star residential development offering a stunning
view of Marina Bay, the Singapore skyline and other attractions. Recently
completed, this 70-storey landmark development sets the benchmark for
prime waterfront, city living in Singapore and is currently the tallest
residential development in Singapore.
The
55-storey Marina Bay Residences
and 66-storey Marina Bay Suites are another
two upcoming urban waterfront residential developments with excellent
bay-wide views. Residents of both developments will enjoy easy walking
access to Marina Bay Financial Centre, One Raffles Quay and nearby Raffles
Place through upper-level and underground links.
The
existing business district is also being rejuvenated to take advantage
of the surge in demand for inner city living. One
Shenton Way, a former commercial building in the Central Business
District, is being redeveloped into two iconic residential tower blocks.
COMMERCIAL
DEVELOPMENTS
Singapore is geared to meet future growth needs and enhance its competitveness
as a global financial hub. A district in the heart of Marina Bay –
about the size of Hong Kong’s business district Central, and bigger
than London’s Canary Wharf - is planned for prime office and mixed-use
developments.
Designed
with financial institutions and businesses in mind. It is also integrated
with a 24/7 lifestyle buzz in an attractive live-work-play environment
to make Marina Bay the choice address for global businesses in Singapore.
Centrally
located on prime waterfront space in the city’s new downtown is
the 3.55-hectare Marina Bay Financial Centre.
It will comprise of high-quality office space, retail space at ground
and basement levels, and luxury residential units in Marina Bay Residences.
Neighbouring One Raffles Quay, which consists
of two office towers with large column-free floor plates, has been fully
leased to premium tenants such as Deutsche Bank, UBS, RBS, Ernst &
Young, Barclays and Credit Suisse.
Located
a stone’s throw away, Marina View will house a mix of prime office
and hotel uses. It will be connected to surrounding developments such
as One Raffles Quay, One Marina Boulevard,
Marina Bay Financial Centre and the future developments at One Shenton,
through an extensive network of covered walkways, underground pedestrian
walkways and second storey links.
RECREATION AND ENTERTAINMENT DEVELOPMENTS
Residents
will also enjoy tropical living amongst lush greenery with the sprawling
101-hectare Gardens by the Bay, waterfront
promenade and large open spaces dotted throughout the area, making Marina
Bay truly a city-in-a-garden.
Singapore
is also set to have its very first Art Park
at Marina Bay, showcasing 27 winning artworks by Singapore’s youths
incorporated within the park’s structures. Meet at the hub for
global business and join a dynamic financial community.
Marina
Bay is Singapore’s new playground, set amid a dynamic landscape
of lush greenery and waterfront promenade. A host of exciting, highly
anticipated entertainment developments will soon be ready at Marina
Bay.
Marina
Bay Sands,
Singapore’s first integrated resort, will be a distinctive world-class
development with a comprehensive range of amenities such as three 50-storey
hotel towers, one-million square feet of convention facilities, two
2,000-seat theatres for entertainment shows, one-of-a-kind ArtScience
Museum, theme attractions, luxury retail, fine dining and casino gaming.
The resort is estimated to complete in 2009.
The
2.67-hectare waterfront Fullerton Heritage
(former Collyer Quay site, which includes the historic Clifford Pier),
will be redeveloped into a lifestyle hub with a mix of restaurants,
shops, nightclubs and a hotel.
A
new waterfront landmark and cultural facility at the Central
Promontory site will also add to the nucleus of entertainment,
culture and arts venues around Marina Bay.
Marina
Bay is already home to Singapore’s award-winning Esplanade
- Theatres on the Bay where international
concerts and performances are staged year-round. The newly opened 165-metre-high
Singapore Flyer will whisk visitors to
breathtaking, unobstructed views of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Other public attractions like the Merlion Park
will ensure visitors have no lack of entertainment and leisure options.
The Double Helix Bridge is a bridge under
construction in Singapore. Linking Marina Centre with Marina South in
the Marina Bay area, it is located beside the Benjamin Sheares Bridge.
The bridge will complement other major development projects planned
in the area, including the highly-anticipated Integrated Resort at Marina
Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay and the 438,000 m²
business and financial centre when it is expected to be completed in
2009.
The
design consortium is an international team with Australian architects
the Cox Group and engineers Arup, combining with Singapore based Architects
61. The bridge is expected to be a focal point for the community, linking
cultural, recreational and entertainment facilities in the area and
complementing the walking look around Marina Bay. On the walls of the
bridge, paintings and drawings of young children will be put up for
tourists and Singaporeans alike to enjoy.
To
that end, canopies (made of fritted-glass and perforated steel mesh)
will be incorporated along parts of the inner spiral to provide shade
for pedestrians. The bridge will also include five viewing platforms
at strategic locations that allow views out to the city skyline and
the events taking place within Marina Bay.
